White space analysis, explained.

White space analysis maps what each customer already buys against everything they could buy, so the gaps show where to expand. You list your accounts and your products or modules in a matrix, mark what each account uses, then rank the empty cells by fit and size. WiseOrg keeps that matrix current from your own data.

What is white space analysis?

White space analysis is a way to find revenue inside your existing customers. Every account has products, modules, teams or regions it does not use yet. Those gaps are the white space.

It is usually the cheapest growth a company has: the customer already trusts you, the contract exists, and the people who would use the new product often sit next to the people who use the current one.

How do you build a white space matrix?

  1. List your accounts as rows. Start with the top accounts by ARR.
  2. List what you sell as columns: products, modules, plans, or the teams and regions inside an account.
  3. Mark each cell: owned, in trial, or empty.
  4. Score each empty cell for fit (does the account have the need?) and size (what would it be worth?).
  5. Rank the cells by fit times size, and give the top ones an owner and a date.

Which signals show an account is ready to expand?

How does WiseOrg help?

WiseOrg matches each customer across your CRM, billing, support and product data, so the matrix fills itself from what the account actually uses. Every six hours it scans for accounts outgrowing their plan and opens an initiative with the evidence and a plan, for a person to approve.

Questions buyers ask

What is the difference between white space and upsell?

White space is the map of what an account does not yet use. An upsell is one play that fills a gap, such as a bigger plan.

How often should a white space matrix be updated?

Whenever usage or contracts change. Kept by hand, most teams refresh it quarterly, before account planning.
